Lutheran HealthCare president and CEO Wendy Z. Goldstein was named Woman of the Year by the Federation of Italian-American Organizations (FIAO) at its Annual Fund Raising Gala on March 30. The FIAO celebrated 31 years of community service this year and distributed special honors for exemplary community leadership at the El Caribe Country Club. Ms. Goldstein received the top honor of the evening for her tireless work to provide health services at Lutheran HealthCare that meet the needs of communities throughout Brooklyn.
Ms. Goldstein now joins an esteemed group of honorees that includes Senator Martin J. Golden, former N.Y.C. Mayor, Rudolph W. Giuliani and N.Y.C Councilman Domenic M. Recchia. She is also the first woman to receive the honor in the last seven years.
Gala Chairperson Nancy Sottile recently said: "Wendy Goldstein is a wonderful person doing so much for the community and health care. She's a special woman and we were honored to recognize her."
