October 17, 2007, Brooklyn, New York…This October, Lutheran HealthCare recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month by launching the area's first fully functional hospital-based Spanish language Web site and hosting a panel presentation to address the challenges facing New York's Hispanic communities. From health disparities, like language barriers, to overcoming life and career obstacles, four local leaders shared their views on living the American dream as an Hispanic-American.

New Spanish Web Site Breaks Down Language Barriers:

With the launch of its new fully functional Spanish language version of its Web site, http://spanish.lmcmc.com/, Lutheran's Spanish speaking community can now view the entire site in their own language with just a single click!

Heritage Month Panel Presentation Addresses Future Challenges:

Lutheran's Hispanic Heritage Month panel presentation on October 15 brought together area Hispanic leaders to celebrate and discuss the challenges facing New York's Hispanic communities. From health disparities to overcoming life and career obstacles, the panelists: Ada Rodriguez, chief marketing officer for Health Plus; Dan Suarez, president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses; and Rick Miranda, president and CEO of the Brooklyn (Kings County) Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, shared their views on living the American dream in the twenty-first century.
