LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE BOARD MEMBER GERALD LUTERMAN RECEIVES UNITED HOSPITAL FUND'S 2009 DISTINGUISHED TRUSTEE AWARD

Lutheran HealthCare is pleased to announce that Gerald Luterman, a member of its Board of Trustees, is a recipient of the prestigious United Hospital Fund's 2009 Distinguished Trustee Award.
The Distinguished Trustee Award, bestowed annually by the United Hospital Fund, recognizes recipients for their leadership, guidance and extraordinary service to the city's not-for-profit and municipal hospitals. The United Hospital Fund is a not-for-profit health services research and philanthropic organization whose mission is to shape positive change in health care for the people of New York. Nearly 750 hospital and community leaders gathered together with friends and family to honor 34 distinguished trustees at this year's Tribute to Hospital Trustees luncheon on May 8 at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan.
"I am happy to congratulate Gerald Luterman, a dedicated member of Lutheran HealthCare's Board of Trustees, on his receiving the United Hospital Fund's Distinguished Trustee Award," said Wendy Z, Goldstein, president and CEO, Lutheran HealthCare. "He has been an asset to our Board and deserves to be recognized for his leadership and for his continued dedication in furthering Lutheran's mission of helping the community."
Mr. Luterman is vice chair of Lutheran HealthCare's Board of Trustees. He previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of KeySpan Corporation. Prior to KeySpan, Mr. Luterman was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Arrow Electronics and held senior level financial positions with American Express, Emerson Electric and Booz-Allen & Hamilton. He is a member of the Financial Executive Institute and Economic Club of New York and a member of the board of directors for NRG Energy Inc., U.S. Shipping Partners and Ramsey Industries.
Mr. Luterman graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a bachelor's of commerce degree and earned a master's in business administration from Harvard. He and his wife Lillian reside in Westport, Connecticut.
